Borrowash is a small village on the outskirts of Derby, bordering with the towns/villages of Draycott, Spondon, Elvaston and Ockbrook. Borrowash and Ockbrook have always been closely associated, being separated by just a few fields in early times.
Borrowash and Ockbrook have a very interesting history, from the Midland Railway Station that opened in 1839, to the Derby Canal that is currently being restored by the Derby & Sandicare Canal Trust to the Moravian Settlement in Ockbrook.

Ockbrook and Borrowash LTC is situated in Borrowash with easy links to the A52, it is a well established and friendly club. Our mission statement is ‘ To offer a good standard of tennis facilities and coaching service to the local community in which we are situated. Looking to develop and encourage new skills for all ages and abilities’. We have around 80 members ( 50 adults and 40 juniors) of mixed playing ability.James Middleton and his coaching team work both with the juniors and adults.

Ashbrook Junior School
Ashbrook Junior School is a community junior school situated in Borrowash, just to the East of the city of Derby. The school shares its campus with the infant school. There are approximately 180 children on roll, aged 7 – 11 years old. The school day starts at 9:00, but pupils are allowed on site from 8:45 onwards. School finishes at 3:30. There is an after school and breakfast clubs each day of the week which run from 7:30 – 9:00, the after school club runs until 6:00, car park on the school premises to facilitate this.
